Who I am…

I am (not surprisingly) Jen and I draw, illustrate and sketch houses and homes and buildings. And also other things when the mood takes me.

I mostly work with pen, ink and watercolours out of my tiny studio in Surrey, just outside London. My style is sketchy, informal and relaxed. My art always starts with a piece of paper - even if the end product is delivered digitally.

I’m primarily self-taught, but with a little help from a (very distant) art A-Level and a number of short courses at Central St Martin’s in London. I used to be a PA and manage to be both organised and creative - communicating with people to find the best way to tell their story is an essential part of what I do.

Houses, Homes and Buildings

I take commissions for personalised custom art via my Etsy shop. Houses are homes - so much more than bricks and mortar - and illustrating them allows me to indulge my love of homes (and nosiness about how other people live).

Commercial Illustration

I’ve been lucky enough to work with a range of commercial clients on all sorts of different projects, showcasing their brands, telling their story and bringing their brand to life. I am used to working collaboratively to get the final piece of art that clients need.

The Joy of Sketch

My first book, The Joy of Sketch, was published in 2020 and I’m thrilled that it’s encouraging people who may not feel they have any artistic ability to get sketching and see what they can create. It’s aimed at both beginners, and anyone who wants a little boost in their creative life.
